Ah, that sweet summer air filling you with delight. Why not ride that wave of elation into one of this month’s comedy shows? There are plenty to choose from including a few special Saturday night shows. It all starts this weekend.

SAT. JUNE 1 - M-B COMEDY #191: THE FUTURE IS FUNNY (SUMMER EDITION) FT. CHERRY BEACH COMEDY

Future is Funny.jpg

Guelph’s feminist comedy show is back to start off June with a good ol’ laugh in the patriarchy’s face. We don’t need to explain how much we need to be celebrating women right now, and comedy is a powerful force capable of changing the world. Our headliners Cherry Beach have appeared in Second City Tour Co, Toronto’s Sketch Fest and will make their way into your hearts as well. Not only that, they’ll be supported by local superstars The Phelgm Fatales and Athena McQueen.

FRI. JUNE 7 - M-B COMEDY #192: IMMIGRANT STORIES W/ COMEDY AS A SECOND LANGUAGE

Carol Zoccoli (JFL, Second City Mainstage), Leonard Chan (CBC’s The Debaters, The Beaverton), and Hisham Kelati (JFL, CBC’s LOL) are sure to deliver a night of amazing and hilarious perspectives. Just seeing one of these comics would be a treat, and you get them all in the same night!

Basketball is Canada’s second-fastest growing sport. The Raptors are in the finals for the first time in NBA history. 2019 also marks the launch of Guelph’s first semi-pro basketball team, The Nighthawks. The Nighthawks will be active members within the city, sharing resources, building our community and coming together as one around the game of basketball. We’re excited to have some players as our guests. Comedy and sports will collide and hilarity will ensue.
